Anyone know of a way of transferring an 8mm video to a computer format? Can I take it somewhere and have them transfer it to a CDROM?

My camcorder has a fire wire output. I just plug it into the computer and away you go.
I am not sure if USB carries enough data to do it.

I use a program called Dazzle. It lets you hook up camcorders, vcrs, etc to your pc.

Right on. Thanks for the help.stix if you have a friend who has a digital camcorder with fire wire you can record your clips directly onto that camera and then have them transfer it.... I-movie is a bitchen little program for editing but I think it's Mac only...... I have made a few 3-5 minute music video's with it..... it's actually really fun and easy to use..... unfortunately it takes me like 1-2 hours per minute of finished video to get it right!
