I am surprised to hear such negative feedback about the RFE products. It sounds like you had a bad situation there.
Which head has been having the problems? And what are they doing about it or telling you?
They may not have the bolt information on their web site, but I sure hope they have it figured out by now,Im sure they do and they are just too busy to update the site.

    Not Only Me !!
But another guy that lives down the block from me has had problems With the 24' standard head .
He had the motor on the Dyno and BAM they crack From the outer head bolt all the way to the intake guide .
He spent 1500.00 to have them ported.
    675.00 dyno.
    150.00 pushrods.
Talks to RFE they tell him that he must have done something wrong!
But they will exchange those heads for another set that they have on the shelf.
He ask's about the port work he had done they tell him SORRY SuCKER
    your LOSS.
Goes thru the whole deal again having them ported and assembiling the motor .
Then finds out he needs differant Pushrods" BUT ITS THE SAME HEAD"
Any ways I can go on and on about the story but it is not necesary.
The motor is finally together and running strong!
NOW ABOUT My RFE And STEVE SCHMIDT Ordeal
I order my heads from steve. Go with all the GOOCHIE stuff.
Receive them and I notice that SOMEONE has welded on these heads
So I call steve he says No I never welded your heads!
The closer I look I find that up torwards the valve cover rail on the intake surface WHERE They said that they never welded , It looks VERY thin
I take a mic to it and it READS .020 Twenty thousands thick,
I call steve back and tell him this is BULL$HIT
He tells me I don't no what your talking about KID
He says if you send them back Ill Look at them for you, But he says I would hate to see you send them back and there be nothing wrong with them.
The next day I call RFE , They tell me yes send them to US We will look at them "WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THOSE HEADS BEEING THIN"
I send them to RFE wait about a month for them to tell me that ITS NOT OUR PROBLEM.
They send them to steve Schmidt
He calls me and tells me that IF I would have sent them to him to begin with he would have taken care of it.
Anyways another month goes by And I finally receive the heads from Schmidt
He tell me that he did Extra work on them for me "YA BULL$HIT"
He Welded these up to .
Just tried to cover it by sanding the head.
I am so PISSED OFF I can't even type wright now .
It was a horrorable experience Deeling with those two places.

I'm running Dart 355 CNC Pro-1 with their standard roller package parts. Springs all checked out pressure wise. I talked to Dart before ordering and was assured that their s/s severe duty valves were better than Manley's. Don't have a way of telling how true that claim was but they did say that they started making their own after having problems with other suppliers. Ok, so far so good after one season. They also arranged the coatings for me so they showed up ready to go. We made good power and torque with them so I'm happy. Good buddy of mine is building a very similar motor, but with 357 AFR heads. We'll have dyno numbers in a week or two and will be an interesting comparison.

Clown, sorry to hear your bad experience. I also have some thoughts on these heads, not all positive BTW. But my post, "What, no RFE?" not endorsement or put-down...just a comment on Fired-ups list of heads. I'll post more when I have more time on the RFE's. Until then, they seem to be cranking out respectable hp.

    Here's my point. Example: Jegs
fiat , i understand what your saying , but do you think dart, brodix, pro line are purchasing ,valves, springs and retainers
at the same price your going to get a set out of jegs for? with the volume there doing they can probably sell these items for and additional 370 a set and still make a buck while offering a quality
    component

on my 502 crate motor the AFR 315 CNC Magnums and a cam, intake and carb change were worth over 200hp vs. stock. Sold me instantly on the value of AFR's heads. They are well built, the accessories are up to par and they just plain work.
