The news of Saddam HusseinÂ’s capture has captivated the attention of our nation and invigorated the spirit and morale of our brave servicemen and servicewomen in Iraq. And on a day that the U.S. celebrates the capture of one of the most vile and murderous tyrants in world history, we have to be thankful for the outstanding efforts conducted by the men and women of our military.
But, it is also important to point out that if we had followed the lead of California state senator Barbara Boxer, Saddam Hussein would still be a free man. Furthermore, following Barbara BoxerÂ’s anti-war and soft-on-terrorism approach would have left Saddam in power in Iraq.
Instead of being in the custody of the U.S. military, Saddam Hussein would probably be standing on the patio of one of his palaces raising a rifle in the air and commanding his supporters to continue to use violence and terrorism to afflict suffering on the people of America – a nation he has repeatedly called the “Great Satan.” Consider the following:
* Boxer voted AGAINST authorizing use of military force against Iraq in 2002.
* Boxer voted AGAINST the 1991 Gulf War resolution.
* Boxer tried to cut funding for the military prior to U.S. forces taking action in Iraq
