Someone will post a website that allows you to type in the HIN# and it will give you all that info, company, address, etc. I used to have the link, but can't find it. Sorry
Chris
I just bought a boat from my uncle that i need help identifying . He doesnt have any paperwork for it. All I have is the vin# off of the hull . It starts out with tah237540575. I was hoping that some one might be able to tell me what brand it is and maybe what year it is. Maybe where I could get more information on restoring this kind of boat.

Unfortunatly there's little info or records from the first 10 years of Tahiti, '65 to '74 or so, when the hull ID numbers started to be inforced.
But for Advantagetruck and his 75 Tahiti, there's a lot more info to be had.
By the way, Schuster sold Tahiti to Bell for a cool million dollars, which in 1972, was a busload of cash. Plus he stayed on as president of the company, the boats were still sold as 'Tahiti's by Schuster' and he owned the buildings and property that housed the company, until they moved from the shop off the 605 freeway to Anaheim. Smart guy.
Oh yeah, while prez, he back-doored enough material to start up Hawaiian boats in late '74. It hit the fan over that deal.
