I bought a 1971 Sanger flatbottom a few years ago. Amongst all the documents, I have the original transfer of title from Sanger to the original owner. The original owner's name is shown as Jack Cayer, living at 8222 De Palma, Downey, CA. The transfer of title was dated 4/22/75. The boat was built in 1971, but not sold by Sanger until 1975. I'm in search of the story behind the boat. I just recenty did an internet search on Jack Cayer and he comes up as an old boat racer that had a fatal crash at Lake Ming (I don't know all the old boat racers, so his name never rang any bells).
Basically, what I'm trying to figure out is if Jack Cayer, the boat racer, was the original owner of my boat. Anyone know if he lived in Downey, CA in 1975?
As a side note, there's I have a carbon copy of a cashier's check made out to Jack A. Cayer on 5/21/75 in the amount of $5,254.00. It appears he only owned the boat for one month.
Thanks for any insight!
Alan
