Thread: Identify these casting numbers please!!!

    Heres what I dug up in the shop today.I need the cc's and whether or not if they are closed chamber or open chamber on the heads.

    Go to Mortec.com and you should find info' your looking for, for example first number-
    10114156...91-up...oval...OPEN...Gen.V & VI 454, 118cc chamber

    i did that and the numbers on thier website dont match the ones in my speedpro book. I am trying to look at different heads cc's and I get 2 different opinions
    mortec says my 3917215 heads are 101cc and my speedpro book states that they are 96cc's WTF

    Same thing with my 781 heads. Mortec claims that they are 118cc's and speedpro catalog states that they are 110cc's WTF

    I've heard before their numbers don't always match with some other sites, don't know how to tell who it right. Maybe call Mortec and ask them where to research further-505-986-1273. Have a good Chevy parts guy who wants a challenge, not like they're 30 yr old parts so you wouldn't think it would be too hard for them. Used to be a number where you could call Chevrolet and they could look up casting numbers and tell you what they belong to. I will have to look and see if I can find it, if they still do it even.
    But WTF is right!

    Can't find the number but it used to be 800-ChevUsa or something like that. Call local dealer and ask for number where they have database they normally use for resto's..

    you can check the CC's yourself. The kit from summit is cheap.
    actually is just a piece of damn plexiglass with a hole cut in it. YOu just need a container to pour from with CC's marked on it.
    Hell I am going to go make one now.....
