What was it you said about bushes and trees, Bill?
We have 50 acres of woods so I will never run out of wood. However it is alot of work to get the wood from the woods to the house. Years ago my parent heated with wood. The furnace never turned on when I was a kid. Then my Dad got sick of cutting wood.
This year we cut about five cords of wood. That will last them till spring.

You have to clean out the ash tray every week (5 to 7 days) ... Every couple of weeks it's good to let it cool totally off and clean the burn chamber (brush it out) so nothing really builds up in it. They need to be vented to the outside with normal venting pipe. The only place on the outside I would consider a 'No Touch Area' would be the glass opening in front ... everything else is ok to the touch (even vent pipe if insulated pipe as we use).
All in all, for use on the farm I think their alot better than wood stoves ... easier to go to the bin than cut, haul & split wood ... and we've got plenty of wooded acreage we've cut from in the past ... still do a bit for the wood burning stoves still in use.

If ya trim the bushes, it makes the tree look bigger.
Say thanks to Katrina. Oh and it's not going to get any better for a long time.
