    Hello,
Noticed a very slight trickle from my water pump weep hole, but only for a few moments when it was cold, then it stops. How long before it goes out on me and how serious is it in the meantime? Its on a 2000 merc 4.3, no that many hours, really, but oh well.
    Thanks for any help!

you should replace is as soon as possible its a bad seal
could stay like that forever or go bad tomorrow
the good thing is you in a boat so you will never run out of water to cool your engine

Unless its a closed loop system. You'll have to keep checking the fluids, but obviously you can't when its hot. Closed system will weep the water out until it gets overheated. The overflow isn't any good as it works during expansion and contraction.
A raw system will get you through longer with a hell of a supply.
