So whats the difference in a Weiand 177 blower and a 671?

About double the volume (177 vs 380) and ten times the longetivity. TIMINATOR

And whats the difference in 8mm and 1/2" pitch drive pulleys?

1/2" Gilmer pulleys are old tech, they will not reliably transfer nearly as much power. The main problem is that as the blower and manafold heats up and expands, the belt will tighten, so you make it looser so it is right at operating temp. Then when you look at the belt when cool, the belt flops, its real loose! The belt will jump even at steady state rpm (3000 or so) until everything heats up again and the belt gets tight. The pressure angle of the 8mm is superior for power transfer, and the teeth are deeper. If you have a 1/2" drive set correctly, shine a timing light on the upper pulley/belt at 3000 rpm when cold you can see as the belt jumps teeth. Wing it and its scarey! Drag cars can live with the 1/2" drive better than a boat or street car because they never get as hot so they don't expand as much. The proper way to set tension, is warm the motor up completely, and set the belt at 1/2" deflection. Then be surprised when it cools and you have over 1" deflection and you can jump the belt by hand! 177 weiand.http://www.***boat.com/image_center/...e_shot_002.jpg Works good for me. A little noisey at high rpm but I like it.

Daytona, where do the two hoses that come out of the water neck go to? I'm setting mine up now and not sure what to do with that big ugly 4 hose water neck thing. :rollside:

They go to the exhaust manifolds water inlet port.
