    It probably has a light spring in it. Take the jet can off and shake it real hard. If it rattles (unseating the poppet)....that is the light spring you need.
    The stock setup has that light spring in it. It comes off the seat soon as the motor fires.
    Picture above is NOT the spring you need.

    Looks like a high speed spring to me??? And it's been clipped at one time!..

    Yeah that particular can was a high speed.
    I clipped it to save weight. For low e.t.

    By the way. The blown carb'd deal ran pretty good. You would have been impressed. Wouldn't have swayed you back to carbs....but you would have been impressed in how it ran. One thread of heat right outa the box.

    That looks more like the spring in the one I use for my "fuel pressure regulator".
