I will be running 3 amps for a total of 2300 watts. Would like to here any recommendations for batteries to run. Would like to stay with dual batteries. Boat builder uses interstate and seems to think they will be fine. I'm not convinced of that. Anyone know about odyseey batteries. Someone suggested their 1200 series. Thanks for any info.

Let me guess you have a Lavey? Lavey told my buddy that there 2 Interstate's would be fine for his 3 amp system....NOT! The Odyssey is a nice choice and should work for you.

So two batteries will do the job if their the right kind? Thanks for the feedback.

It all depends on how long and hard you play it. Also don't expect your boat Altenator to charge batteries fully after you play it along time. You will need to put on a charger nightly.

For 2300 watts and if staying the 12v route, I would start with two 1700 Odyssey's and seperate starting battery, either a 1200 or 1700...If not enough playing time for your listening maybe add a third battery...

What kind of amps are they? It will also depend on whos "2300" watts they are.

They are not a true 2300 watts, You will be fine w/ 2-3 batts Those ratings are peak which is full output usually at 14+ volts. at best you will see half that power. They are good ofr the money, but make sure to add fans they like to get hot and shut down.

Bill, thanks for the info. Do you sell the fans at your store? How much are they? Do I need one per amp? Can you recommend what to use? Thanks again for your time.

I usually pick them up @ radioshack (most our amps don't need them) what kind of boat and where are they going?

There going in a deck boat and will be mounted in a storage cabin on the wall. There is double doors on the cabinet but not sure how much air they will receive.

Its not really a mater of how much air is recieved but how much air is moving accross the heatsink.
