Looks like an older houseboat. Seen a few of those at some docks on many lakes. Boats that look unkept and old. Havasu Springs Marina has a few docked that look real bad as well.

Some of the boats down there look like hell, like floating hazards.

Where was it parked? Compton? Someone stole the spinners off it and left it on blocks?

My buddy had a house boat explode at lake powell. They were in a big storm and got beached. When the storm was over, they tried to start it and there was a ton of gas in the bilge(was a mono hull house boat). It blew up in a big firey ball of flames. Luckily, my buddy had been standing in the open doorway in the front and got blown out on the beach with minor injuries, mostly from the landing - no burns. They had already gotten everyone off of the boat earlier along with most of their stuff as they thought the house boat might have sunk during the storm. The house boat burned up in less than 15 minutes.
He also got a lesson on trying to start a boat when it smelled like gas.

It doesn't look like it was all that old. Boat-tel has been building the same style house-boat for nearly 25 years now (could be brand new or 20 years old)
I'm willing to bet it was a propane fire.

you're probably right....prob a propane fire.
I had a houseboat 4th july week at Mead, the last day of the trip started getting a MASSIVE propane odor, shut the valve on both tanks, but that coulda blown unattended
