I think it might be a 21'Lavey XCS. Laveycraft builds two 21' models.XT Ski (open bow) and XCS (Cuddy/open or closed). We have a 2004 XCS cuddy/open and it rides great. On big days at Havasu you'll know it is a small boat, but overall a great ride. As far as the models, Lavey jumps up to a 24' after the 21'. Our 21'XCS is just short of 23' in overall length, but 21' usable. Hopefully this will answer you question. If not, let me know-I can confuse you even more!

The model he's looking at pre-dates the current line-up. ;)
I love my 21' (22'8" overall) XTSki.

Bob, Next time you come up to Havasu, I would be happy to take you out in our new 26 foot Sleek open bow, or our 23 Magic.
Hope to hear from you.
Thanks,

Is this the boat? If so, the boat he is looking at is under $20k. You can't get a Magic or a 26' anything (except a used Bayliner) for that price. This boat, my boat, or any of the pre-NuEra Laveys will not have the ride of the NuEra line. The V is much deeper in the new line and you will have to spend at least $35k for a decent used 21' Nu Era.

The 1991 23' Lavey wont ride as nice as a Nu Era 21'. The nu Era 21' is one of the best riding 21s out there. As far as the Baja, I'm not sure. Look at the V. If its got a deep cut V then it should ride nice, but will usually not be as fast in glassy conditions as a shallower V. Baja is not on the same quality level as Lavey. Its kinda like a Bayliner performance boat.

Nix that last message. It was posted in ignorance. Magic stabbed me in the back. Details later for all who have asked.
Hey Hustler! Been away from the boards for a while. Thought now that I was getting a respectable boat, it was time for my triumphant return. The last month has been hell ending in heartbreak. The boat I have been dying for for over a year is no longer. I didn't "click" with the builder.
Looking for a new ride now. Any suggestions?

I second that. The Lavey peeps are some of the nicest around. If I ever go new it would be Lavey.
