There is some truth in that, however, there are still huge reserves that have yet to be tapped (ANWR is one). But we have to be willing to exploit the resource...
Sooner or later the resource will dry up and alternatives need to be found...
Vegetable oil "biodiesel", ethanol, synthesized hydrocarbons... natural gas will also be on the downslope and a replacement will need to be found for this substance like methane gas.
I do not believe that we are one generation away from extinction though.. that's absolutely ridiculous!

Yeah, way over the top...
But my pops was a petroleum engineer and he said that at some point in time it's gonna run out. Not in one generation for sure... and it isn't gonna be the end of the world when it does run out, there will be alternatives developed.

Oil Exploration and Production was once an American endeavour. The anti-man, return to the primitive freedom/capitalist haters in this country used Government to destroy those industries. As a result of thier successful campaign against American Industry, America the world is forced to buy oil from Third World cavemen who hold us hostage with the Oil from one angle while using the money we pay them for thier oil to either threaten or destroy American interests and lives. The oil we're held hostage by was found by American risk takers. It's the American Liberals/Fascists (same thing) who despise risk, profit, freedom and acheivement who has delivered us to the Neanderthals.
