It really is. :) Been my favorite song as long as I can remember (since I was 2 years old). There's a story. :D We were in a record store and that song was playing. The first and only time I ever threw a terrible two's fit in public demanding my Mom buy me the 45. She caved. I wore it out. I went through two others besides. Went a lot of years without hearing that song and I just got the mp3 finally 3 years ago. I listen to that song regularly. I do like other kinds of music mostly metal, hard rock, alternative and classic rock but that one song is still my all time favorite. :)

I have a combination... Mostly because I saw this performed live, and thought it was epic...
Van Halen, off of "Live, Right here, right now" in 1992. They played in Fresno (where we journeyed to to see it from Nor Cal) and they frickin rocked big time. Vince Neil opened and got booed off stage because he tried (poorly) to play Crue stuff without the guys, and VH came on and absolutely killed it.
Best song? "Pleasure Dome" drum solo into "Panama."
Words can't describe hearing Panama after an Alex drum solo.
Second favorite? "Judgement Day" off the same album. Richter. Eddie played stuff live that people with four tracks to kill can't do in the studio. False harmonics, tapping, harmonics, thumb chokes etc... all combined with a concrete rythym line.
Awesome...

Not really. I almost said "Eyes of the World into Franklins' Tower" for the same reason I chose the VH song. Saw it live, it kicked ass!

KAAA is all talk and KZZZ is top 40.
There are new stations that play classic and oldies. The best stations are 2 from vegas. 92.3 KOMP and xtreme 107.5 that are heavy.

Paint it Black....Rolling Stones

sizzlingcell
08-04-2004, 04:26 AM
I was just getting ready to post Paint it Black (or is it painted black) by the Rolling Stones on this thread when I saw the previous post! This may not be the best song but for me it has deep meanings. Before my Dad died he asked me what that tune on the Vietnam show on TV (tour of duty) was in the beginning of the show and he hummed a few bars, I went out and found the song on cassette a day later for a Christmas present, He enjoyed listening to it very much, he died that New Years Eve. Sorry to get so melodramatic on you guys...

Hotcrusader76

That's exactly the same way I became turned on to the song. "Tour of Duty"....Being that I am a 10 year Special Forces veteran it was the only proper song for my taste.

"Theme from SHAFT" Isaac Hayes-the soundtrack is my favorite album.
Favorite music because it reminds me of growing up at the river- America, CCR, Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66, George Benson, Carole King, Isaac Hayes
The best time to play the SHAFT album is about 10 miles out of Desert Center at about 5:30am as the sun is coming up over those eastern hills.
