What do you guys think of Jeremy winning the step up contest last night at the X-games? Amazing. Let's see some of these X-game jumpers go win 1 Super-X race........Ain't going to happen. Just my .02

Is McGrath a great rider and was he good for Super-X, yes. The best ever, I think not. IMHO the man that would take that title is Malcolm Smith. The man was and still is an amazing rider. Ever see "On Any Sunday"? Just look at all the different types of racing that he won in. No, he was never a dominant motocrosser, but an amazing rider!!!!

Joel Robert or Rodger De Coster

That's cool as hell that he won the step up. Was he riding a Yami or the 1993 Honda that he rode for like 5 years for Super Cross? :jawdrop: :D

That was one of the major knocks on McGrath, that he could not adapt very well to new machinery.

Yea, De Coster gets my vote. Try dominating the world with 3 inches of rear suspension

Brad Lackey and John Desoto aka The Flyin Hawaiian.
Man those were the days, 45 minute motos,3 inch suspensions, Jofa's, and chicks in halter tops with hot pants. Oh wait we still have that

I didn't think there was anyone on here old enough to remember Malcomb or DeCoster. Hell, I was in three of the races in "On Any Sunday" (back about 700th at Elsinore). My favorite guy was Mert, but his kind of racing hardly exists anymore...

McGrath is just amazing. Wish he was still riding for Yamaha.

Mert was one of my favorites. How about Shorty Seabourne and Gary Horton? I remember as a kid seeing Kenny Roberts as a yellow plate at Ascot.

riverdog, so you remember TT racing. a lot of these guys don't even know Ascot (or Gilmore, Carrol {sp}etc.) Wow, do I feel old...

I remember Ascot, Dad used to take us there to watch the flat track and tt races...
It's hard to say just one was the best....I grew up watching Hannah, so he was the best to me...just had a balls out style...but RJ, Decoster, MC, and now RC are/were great riders in their time...

All of the riders mentioned above are outstanding but Super X would not be where it is today if it wasn't for MC.
