To go along with the "Are You Registered To Vote?" Thread, lets see HOW you are registered, and if you vote Party Line**.
**This is for most National Level Elections. We all know local politics is based mostly on issues and not so much on the Party.
You can answer the Party Line question along with the Party choice question.
Keep in mind that this is a totally anonymous, unscientific poll.

Shoot. I wrote a big ole hairy response to Summerlove on that other thread and when I went to submit the reply it said it was a reply to an invalad thread. :eat: And it disappeared. I am too tired to write it again. So, Summerlove, just be a good sport and assume I wrote a brilliant, clever, friendly, and witty response to your rhetorical "What do you think?" question. ;) :D
P.S. I'm a registered Democrat and I consistantly vote against them, now that they have been taken over by the far left.

Damn 26 - 6 so far. I had no idea.
Maybe I should switch sides and start playing the devils advocate now and then just to keep it fair. I can argue about anything. I can help ol' SL out now and then, he has been getting tag teamed too much by us.

I originally was registered as a Republican, but was not comfortable with all of the conservative ideology. So I changed to Independent, thinking that I would be an undesignated so to speak and be able to freely vote the way I want to without any of my Republican or Democratic friends flogging me in the process. But now it seems that independents are being grouped with the (Sierra oops, I mean Blue Water, oops again) Green Party. So, to make a long story short I vote for who and what I agree with, I am not committed to any one party, but if you had to pin me down, I would be more on the Republican side of the fence, except when it comes to Health Care Reform.

I'm registered as a republican, but will vote on issues and the stand of the individual running for office. I will even vote for a democrat if he stands for what I believe in, problem is very few democrats and I have the same views. I tend to think a person should get what they work for and not what the government should give them for doing nothing, generally not what the big player democrats agree with.

For me the old saying "socially liberal, fiscally conservative" applies. I don't think the two parties are as far off as everone thinks. However the issues that get the most press and are the most emotional, are the issues that show the greatest divide.
I work in local government and see how petty and fickle most politicians are regardless of party affiliation. They generally care about what is going to get them the most press at that time, then vote for what will set them up for their next political office (thanks to term limits).
Most people would agree that national security, education and healthcare are the three biggest issues. How we go about addressing them will not only define us as a nation but at a race (as in human).

In my province, we have a party which calls itself socialist in nature that has balanced the books, reduced the size of government, put a hold on social programs, and is even against gun registration. We were left in financial ruins in the mid 80s by a conservative government who grew government to insane proportions, racked up wild amounts of debt with insane social programs, and did way too many crazy things to mention. When W5 did a special on it, they left out the craziest stuff like Gigatext which is a company they started that was going to write a program to translate all of our laws into French. ... seriously. It was a few hundred million down the drain.
Sometime in the 80s, our New Democratic Party adopted fairly conservative views and our Progressive Conservative party adopted socialist views.

Republican.
Would vote for a worthwhile Democrat (if there is such a thing) but these days you have to follow the party line of either party to get any support. I also like firearms, fast cars, dirtbikes, SUVs etc. I also like the environment, am somewhat pro choice. And I hate our runaway tax system. So I vote 98% Republican.
