Contrary to vicious rumor, OP6C is still on track for September 25th at a secret location. (Lake Mojave- keep it quiet)
Since RTJ wants all you fine people to save your money for his beer, we have set up a group rate at the Golden Nugget Laughlin (http://www.gnlaughlin.com/home.asp). The rate is $55/night (2 night minimum) plus tax. The toll free number (once again, passing the savings along to you) is 800-950-7700. Just ask for the "OP6C" rate. There are only 40 rooms...and they are first come, first served.
Ole HH is scheduled to make an appearance, so those of you I have never met can get a good laugh, and those of you I have already met can make fun of me some more. :supp:

Last damm run II we stayed at the Riverside no problems. I did see a security vehicle going thru the parking area several times a night. We drove over to Havasu about an hour give or take.

I know many people like to stay at the Riverside (includnig me, we usually stay there many times a year), but the weekend of OP6 they are having a little custom car show there. It's limited to 500 cars, but I fear the parking lot may be a little tight. ;) We're told by Nugget regular's that the boat/RV parking there is really good and very secure. I've never had an issue at the Riverside though either. The only place my boat has been burglerized is London Brige Resort. :eek:

Me neither! :p I did some practicing for the OP6C this last weekend. I think I'm ready to get drinking. :D Besides, Chris won't want me to be the sober one on the boat, he prefer's to be, not that that means much.

We have not had any trouble with the check points.
I have seen them at the launch on major weekends doing saftey checks, and next to the gas docks doing the DUI thing. Never on the launch ramp or road out.( not to say that they don't do that.) After labor day it slows way down at Kathrine Landing. Slips should not be trouble and if You dont want to drive back to your room in Laughlin, you can get a cab real easy. It cost about $15.00 one way from the trailer park to the riverside casino.
I have seen them cruise through Gasoline alley on a regular basis checking on who is having the most fun. That is who they stop later. I just always make sure they see me with a bottle of water in my hand.( funny that bottle of water last all day)
I will say that they are much needed near the lower dam and launch as the PWCers need to be regulated by the firm hand of the man. They can be out of control on a busy weekend. They don't seem to go much past the powerlines.

Here are a couple of things to help clear up some questions asked even though I won't be able to make it. Why can't I go choose your reason.

4. Going to Freeboard Challenged 2 October 9th & 10th Big River, CA
5. Some restraining orders still in place with others attending
Ok, you get the idea, here we go. Car show at the Riverside, they are always having car shows which do not affect their boat and RV parking, it is normally on the far right or away from the bridge lot and fenced off. Security is good and nothing to worry about. They get too much money from snowbirds and such to allow anything to happen in the parking lot.
Time from Havasu is about an hours drive plus about another 20 minutes from Bullhead City to Katherines landing, so the orig. est of an hour and half is correct.
The Regancy Casino is open again and offers a killer Prime Rib dinner very affordable and can be cut with your fork, Try it..... I think they have a Fri or Saturday night special. Where is the Regancy. Its the tiny little speck between the Flamingo and Edgewater.
From what I have been told the DUI check points on the water will continue into October mostly on the weekends as we get further into the season. Only reason is that the more succesful the check points prove to be the more reason they have to continue them.
