There was a sticky posted by ***boat just recently asking that avatars and sig line pictures be appropriate and a max size of so and so....now just go look at the Announcement thread at the top..."***boat rules" and a few lines down you will find your threat...I don't believe you were ratted out by anyone.

No one complained, it was just against the rules. It seems like we need to re-visit this every couple of months, so I will go through the reason list again real quick.
1. In our hosting contract (the guys who give us bandwidth) it clearly states that we cannot allow any nude or pornographic material on our site.
2. We have no age verification or warning anywhere on the site. Therefore we are not in compliance with any laws regarding pornographic websites. (we mostly don't allow under 18 because of the topics that spring up, and because the mostly do nothing but cause trouble.)
3. The people who own this site (and pay my company) have dictated that they do not want porn anywhere on the site for legal reasons.
4. Until very recently Hot Boat was still on a list of banned sites. That meant that military, library and many other computer systems blocked ***boat.com and .net by default.

The one thing that really baffles me is that Hot Boat Mag is published by Flynnt Publications. Lets see other magazines include, trans world a skateboarding magazine thats kind of spicy to speak of. And oh yeah don't let me forget Hustler..... Let me speak to the dirty old bastard in charge, I think its time we put a stop to these people trying to take away our freedom of speach here. Sure sensor a me a little here and a little there, then next thing you now porns illegal and Kerry's in the White House. I wanna talk to Larry now...... :D

This shouldn't baffle you too much, in fact it explains a lot. L.F.P. (Larry Flynnt Publications) does not publish Hot Boat as a porn mag. It wants to keep a very clear distinction between it's pornographic content and non pornographic content. Many companies have a wide variety of products that they would rather not meet in the same market. 3M comes to mind. They make sticky notes as well as component for nuclear weapons. I don't think the second one will help them sell the first. (except for around here, then it would probably be a huge selling point)
This isn't about a right to free speech or any other matter such as that. It is quite simple. This is a privately owned website. The owners of this website (L.F.P.) have very clearly stated that they do not want any porn on the site. For a while when this rule was first starting to really be enforced Hot Boat would get a call from L.F.P. faster than we could even catch the violation ourselves.
