View Full Version : Robotic waterski tow dealio
Was watching the Travel Channel today and saw a self controled waterski towing boat that you control from the ski handle. Looked pretty awsome, went about 40 mph. But I've been searching for more info and keep striking out. Anybody got info on these??????
It was a small 70hp jetski looking thing
They have had them in waterski magazine. I don't remember who makes em. :notam:
If you get a chance could you check it out and post some info

I remember seeing ad's for them a long time ago in several magazines.. I'll look for more info for you on monday morning. Unless your running on a private lake, or a very secluded lake, I think they'd be kinda dangerous to be honest?

Tru Dat. It had some pretty good safety stuff, pressure sensors on the handle and a lanyard also to kill it if ya bail. But the manuverabilty was a bit lacking.
Just got to try harder I guess.............SoloWaterSports (http://www.solowatersports.com/htmlfiles/homeA.html)

But for 8 G's I could rent nakid boat drivers and observers :D
They are coming out with a mini cat. Bubbles aka Short Cumins could have some competition :p

I wonder how it tracks. They show the skier tear it up.
You would think you'd pull that thing all over the place.

Unfortunately the solo skis are illegal under Arizona law.
Not so much that the legislature specifically outlawed them but by the wording of the ski-observer law:
ARS 5-346:
A. No watercraft which has in tow a person or persons on water skis, a surfboard or similar contrivance shall be operated in or upon any waterway unless such watercraft shall be occupied by at least two persons, an operator and an observer.
No observer AND no operator means not allowed.
I'm not passing judgment on the things, but hey, the Law is the Law.
