Can you post a pic, that hull, if it's the one I'm thinking has been around for a while ,every builder has that hull Aftershock, Renegade, Ultra, Cobra, Shockwave etc. I think at one time Caliber use to be a pretty good builder, Cliff use to work for Eliminator, then went on his own(cailber1) not to sure about them anymore, but if it's rigged good and you can get a smoki'n deal on it why not. I dont think it will be very good on the big lakes though my 02 good luck

Sorry don't have any pics of our ob 93.
But, if you can, go down to the factory in corona. A lot of people don't like Cliff as he's not a salesman. However, if you can get his attention for a little while, he will probably give you all of the details on the exact boat you are looking at. It's that kind of shop. All of the history he told us about our used C1 was backed up by another forum member and then (seperately) by the owner.
He is no salesman, but I wasn't looking for a salesman. They may even have pics of the boat being built or when it was new, as they have about 6 books full of boats dating back to the 80s(?).
They also have a couple of used mid 90's in there, so you can compare prices.
We're very happy with the boat and would do it again. But a used boat (not unlike a new one) is a gamble.

This is the new style 230. It's also for sale. Bad ass sleeper open bow.

This is a '94 206, so it's a little smaller, but I think that it's along the same lines as the '95 you're talking about:

Good luck.

I have a 89 commander that is in the shop right now getting the transom and stringers replace due to not knowing what to look for. Who in there right mind is gonna let you drill holes down the stringers and check for rot? does any custom builer use anything but wood stringers?? what about the caliber 1?

Caliber and most other builders use wood micro lam stringers. Eliminator does not use wood and I don't believe Howard does either.
I was told by another builder that every boat that rolls out of there is done right, that Cliff is a great boat builder but admittedly a poor businessman. We couldn't be happier with ours. I would definitely buy another one.

What different models were used in 95? If anyone has a pic of their boat Id appricate it. What outdrive is standard ?

A marine surveyor can test for water content in the transom and floor, and is measured in % of water content.
The one I used charged $12/ft. Cheap insurance when buying a used boat.

Wasn't that determined to be a cobra?
