Why not just check the boat trader online? You can do a search based on year, make, model, length, etc. Compare on there. You should be able to compute an average price and see where that falls into the range.

lol.. no sleek jet....that would inhance the price.. anyhow i will check n.a.d.a for that price, I heard that they are pretty good boats. My sister doesn't want to wait till december(lower prices) so i am doing what i can to help her and her husband. they are asking 40,000 for the boat she is interested in.

I have to agree with Big Warlock. $40K seeds a bit high on a 26' 1999 boat. I'm sure the $40K is the asking price and since it's the end of summer wait a liitle and have them sweat then offer them $28K just for shits and giggles and see if they bite....

Sounds like an impulse buy...lol
My wife and I love our Kachina. We also have the 26 Force w/ 496 HO and we love it.
Jordy is right though, they need to do thier homework and spend an hour or so on the internet looking at www.boattraderonline.com at all the different boats out there in that price range. Then look at all the boats out there in that year, and then the size...Get a good cross reference and some good information to base thier decision on. The only bad thing about rushing into a purchase like this, and at the end of the season, is that 1/2 the time the buyers get belated remorse and blame it on the boat.  It's not the boats fault...
Kachina's are good boats, and if it's anything like mine, they won't be disapointed.

Be carefull if it is this boat. I have seen this company post pics of a wrecked 26 Kachina before. Kinda odd to see a newer all white Kachina with no grafix. Just my .02 Just ask and look at it very well.

I have seen some in the local (AZ) Boat trader so thats probably your best source. Some boats are not on the Boat Trader ON-Line that are in the magazine, due to you have that choice when you run a new ad.

o.k I left a message at Kachina in AZ. But........check this......the boat was converted from a closed bow to a open bow, its got a brand new 502mag engine in it and we are going to try to check the id#s threw Kachina. Her husband and her are really set on buying this thing. I'm not for conversions or shady new engines in a boat only 5 years old..

The open bow on the Kachina is a cutout to start with, so as long as it's done well I wouldn't be too scared. (at least about that part) There are a couple of 30 footers for about the same money on the boat trader. Why not one of them?
