We are having a debate here at work on the difference between taquitos and flautas. I say flautas are made with flour totillas and taquitos are made with corn. Raul (the guy with the tattoo on his forhead) says flautas are like a pastry. Who is right? The Mexican restaurant across the street claims that they are the same thing. Now I'm all confused.

Flauta just means flute in Spanish.... So. Its really just anyway Jose !
NOTE:L Stick to the Chili Verde, Carnitas or a Big mac to avoid further confusion....

I thought a flauta was made with a flour torilla. Why do the mexican restaurants have both on the menu but only serve taquitos? Maybe it's a language barrier. :2purples:

Flautas are made with flour tortillas, taquitos with corn tortillas. The Mexican rest.'s we go to has both on menu...chicken flauta are chicken and cheese in a flour tortilla, topped with guacamole and sour cream. Taquitos (rolled tacos) are beef or pork rolled in a corn tortilla, deep fried with guac and sour cream.
