what i really wanted to do was remove all the emblems off of my 04 stroke. but, since i am told that ford has holes in the body behind them i figure the next best thing will be to take the black off from around them...
i am just wondering the best way to do it, i dont wanna mess my paint job up
thanks, robert

Seems to me that people are doing it with acetone. Yeah, and as far as the holes behind the emblems, that's a dumb idea, but it does guarantee that 99% of the people out there are going to keep advertising the product.

As far as the oval emblems go, I made a sticker specifically to cover it up. :D

I have done this many times for customers and even did it to my truck. What I did was mask the area around the emblems off and then take a rag with acetone and wipe down the badges. The black paint comes right off. Dont be stingy with the acetone. once you are done remove the masking tape and wash the truck, or at least the area around the badges. Make sure not to get acetone on the plastic part of the badge, Like where it says "lariat" or "xlt" just mask these areas off. If you get acetone on those parts it will eat away at the plastic.

There are holes behind all the F-250/350 emblems but you can remove the powerstroke emblem if you want, however I think they look good when you leave the chrome PS emblem and strip the paint off the rest. On my Truck I removed the emblem, stripped the paint with accetone, and reinstalled emblem with new double sided tape.

Yes, pretty much every ford truck ever made has the holes behind the badges.
