I was wondering where everyone keeps there boats and how they keep them clean. I left my boat in the backyard for a month, and even though it was covered it still got filthy. Normally I keep it in the garage.

I keep mine at my buddy's place in the backyard. It's always filthy and his dogs think the brake wires are chew toys! When I am done with my rebuild I will probably clean my backyard and build a shelter for it.

I keep it a friends house in his back yard.
It's allways dirty, & a real pain in the ass to go get. 1 hour round trip just to go get.
Then 2-3 hours of cleaning!
Maybe this is why I only took it out 5 times this year!
Plus I gave him money to split the cost of pouring concrete to keep both of our boats on a pad, with a RV awning cover. This was 1.5 years ago, & still on dirt!

Keep both boats in Parker in storage with the covers on...still gets a little dusty in there during monsoon season....just take a duster to them when I take the covers off...

In the drive way covered. In winter I put a big blue tarp over it and it's always been fine.

In the back 40 at Dirt Lot Marine with the covers securely fastened and Parked under the shelter by the cat trap. It doesn't get too dusty but I always wash the boat and truck once I pull them up to the house before going anywhere. I can't go out looking like that. But both truck and boat being black they get dirty in 5 minutes no matter where they are.

Sits at one end of the shed. In the winter I will slide it to one side out of the way.

The Eliminator is in the garage now. Two others in the side yard. 79 tahiti and a fishing boat. In the winter, starting sometime in November, will put them into the whse up in Napa. Parked next top a bunch of wine. Boat does not seem to mind.

the boat we use most often stays in the garage at the river house or in the workshop home. We do have a boat stored outside. the engine compartment is all sealed over with plastic, with a cover over all. It stays very clean in the engine compartment, just dusty elsewhere. It's in a real dusty area next to barn and horses. Do have to keep checking and make sure all is covered well though.

Normally it is stored in Needles. Unfortunately, lately it has been stored at GT Performance having the motors re-built. :frown: I can't wait to see my "storage" bill on this one.

Right now it's in an enclosed storage unit in Havasu. It's the best $100 a month I've ever spent. It gets just a little dust on it and takes me only about 20 minutes to clean it up before use. At home I put the cover on and I have a carport built onto the side of garage it sit's under. It get's pretty dusty but at least it's out of the rain.

LOL...thats looks like it might be my problem too. My 247 sits nicely in the garage now but the new boat under consideration is right around 36ft long on the trailer....problem is the newly built solid concrete garage is only 35' 8" inside. I dont know how I get myself into these things..... :notam: Well, yes I do, but I am in denial.

Inside, covered and cleaned before I put it away. My boat only stays outside if it is in a slip :)

At my bro-in-laws, under a portable canopy and two covers in the backyard, it still gets dirty as all hell but luckly it is only 5 min from home so pickin her up to wash isn't too big of a chore...

And that my friends is how we do it in the High Desert chapter!!!!
I have mine at Campells in Havasu, too hard to get it up my driveway. Plus, when it needs an oil change or something, all I gotta do is call.

We keep our boat at an inside storage, just a block or two from the Windsor launch... it's also gated with 24 hour security. The storage has electricity too, so we have a fridge in there with extra beer and ice.
It works.

In our garage in Havasu. Oddly enough, it gets less dust on it if I leave the cover off of the boat. With the cover on, our next visit (2 weeks between visits) the boat as dust UNDER the cover. If I leave the cover off it is dust free....go figger (sp)!

In the Havsu garage, uncovered. For some reason it does not get as dusty uncovered as it did when covered.

Concrete slab around side of the house. Cover on it that collects dust from several countries away and neatly deposits it all on the lexan windshield where it makes neato designs.
When I'm not using it, I can longingly look outside and wonder why I'm wasting so much money. :hammerhea

Keep ours in Needles, just 5 miles off the 40. Large condo style unit with full service yard. Beat the heck outta towing it 200 miles.

Did you try Campbell's Boat Storage? Great folks but you'll need to get on the waiting list NOW.

Big River - 5 miles from Parker Strip. Can't stand the tow back & forth to OC. The only problem is cleaning it properly & services.

Ive been on a waiting list there since the beginning of Summer. I called a few weeks ago. 7 peeps ahead of me, and they only get about one unit a year open up the size I need.

Same here with keeping the cover off and having the boat cleaner. I must add that the boat looks nicer in the garage when the cover is off.
