A question...where do you live, and what is the price of gas at the reasonable station, and what is the price of gas at the f*cking highway robbery station?
Vista, CA (northern San Diego county)
Texaco: $3.19 per gallon regular unleaded
Arco: $2.78 per gallon regular unleaded

We are at 2.84 at our Vista station...
BTW, you need to add in the atm fee at Arco, along with the straight rack gas they are selling you. ;)

I bought 26.4 Gallons at $2.859 = $75.50 last night in Burbank, CA at 76, gas only station known for low prices. The 91 octane was $3.059. I noticed this price as it's time to fill the dually & the boat. If it wasn't for the rain due tonight thru Saturday, I'd be at Lake Mead. Over Labor Day weekend 2005 gas bill cost over $500.00 for 91 octane gas for drive up & back, two days on the lake & two nights driving into Las Vegas from Boulder City for evening entertainment at the casinos. Any gambling money won or lost is not included in the gasoline bill. We just added up the gas reciepts when we arrived home and were a little surprised.
I listened to a discussion on the radio yesterday while driving home from work, some fuel market watchdog was saying it is expected that diesel will go to about $4.00 per gallon by Memorial Day Weekend. If that happens, look for gasoline to be in the range of $3.25 to $3.50 (More in remote areas). He expert said the prices are high due to the USA oil companies are paying European refineries a premium to refine the new blend of gasoline as mandated by the Federal Government. Our refineries here in the USA need to convert their processes to refine this blend of gasoline. Plus the cost to import the gasoline by tanker. Distribution must be by truck or rail. The pipelines can not be used for the new blend due to their beling used for MTBE blended gas. The pipelines, holding tanks etc. need to be completely cleaned and flushed to be allowed to handle the new blend of gas. His great idea of a recommendation of how to cut your expenses for gasoline is something I have said before in this forum. "Buy stock in the oil companies."
Make a profit on their stock and sell it for a fair profit to offset your gasoline bill increases. - Wavemaker

2.85 here. Paid 2.45 in NC Last weekend.
You got the last of the cheap stuff here...
Up to 2.79 and more, pretty much everywhere for regular.
Don't know what south of the border (SC) is getting, but it's usually about a dime cheaper due to the tax difference.
Used to be able to blame this sorta thing on OPEC...not no more. It's mostly our 'own people' doing it to us now.

2.99 at 1:30pm in Phoenix (91 stuff). That's .08 cent increase in less than 24 hours.
What would happen if we tied our hourly rate to the price of gas?
I just hope it does not go too much higher.
I'm not getting pay increases fast enough to keep up with Gas, Utilities, and interest rates on my second. Sure the house is worth double what I paid for it 3 years ago, but I'm not selling...

Sure. They proved last year people would pay $3.00 a gallon. Why mess around? Go right to $3.00.
Sure glad they don't think people will pay $4.00. YET.

I like how the government tell us how much it is going up. And then the next day....BINGO....they were dead on!
Imagine accuracy like that.
This year they will sqeeze a little more. Just to feel ya out.

The Arco I go to is off Mar Vista. The Texaco I am referring too is off of South Melrose and Hacienda....I know it is re-branded as something else, I just remember it as a Texaco forever.
