My sister's daughter just gave birth to a 7lb 4oz little boy, Aiden Thomas last night. He is the first of the next generation...I am now officially a Great Aunt!!!
The doctor's just found out today that little Aiden has something wrong with his heart, a narrowing of the aorta...or something to that affect. I just got off the phone with her and Aiden will be going in for heart surgury tomorrow morning. :(
Please keep little Aiden in your prayers.

Thanks guys! I'm so glad to have such a great support group here on the forums. You guys are awesome! I keep trying not to let it bother me and know everything will be allright, but when I heard my sister start crying...well, that was kinda hard to take. I will try to continue to be positive and keep you posted on little Aiden's journey.
Thanks again...you guys are the best!

Well, it was a 2 1/2 hour surgury and Aiden is in recovery.
The docs said everything went well and if there are no complications, he should be going home in a week! :D
It has been reassuring for me to hear that others of you have went thru the same thing and all have had success stories.
I'm new to this and still am in awe to think of heart surgery on a 2 day old baby. Simply Amazing!
My sis and I want to thank all of you for your kind thoughts and prayers....God was listening!!!
You never know when life will throw you a curve ball but it's great to have friends like you when it does!!! :D

Great news. Both my daughter and my son had to have surgery when they were babies.

Just talked to my sis today and she said he has tubes coming out of his head, nose, mouth, arms and heart....but so far his vitals remain stable. She will be sending pics in the next few days and I will post them when they arrive.
I think the one of the coolest things that came out of this thread is knowing how many others have endured the same thing with positive results! It is this knowledge that I am holding on to and helps me not to freak out....too much! ;)
Thanks again for all your thoughts, prayers and encouragement...it has been priceless!!!
Cheers ~RiverKitty :D

Glad to hear things are looking up... at least steady. Yeah, it sounds like there have been lots of people with similar experiences. I have a friend who had a baby almost a year ago and she delivered 3 mo early... but todays technololgy does wonders and she (baby) went home in less than a month after she was born... So w/ good doctors and love from family and god, I am sure the baby is in good hands with a possitive future ahead. Keep us posted RK! I'm thinkin of you all!
