my last employer is in the list, and I know for fact all of our robot cells are
made in the good ole USA.... but, we do have offices all over hte world,
because we have installations all over the world which require field service
to update and repair those tools.......

CALABASAS, CA -- The cost of hiring mortgage employees in California has become so prohibitive that Countrywide Home Loans here is committed to growing its worker base in Texas, Arizona and India.
As reported, the company also is creating new call center jobs in Mumbai, India, the city formerly known as Bombay. This past fall, in an interview with this newspaper, Mr. Mozilo said he would not move call center operations overseas.
But last week, he admitted, "To be competitive you have to lower costs. The cost savings in India is just too compelling."
The Countrywide chief said benefit costs in California are $3 an hour per worker, excluding salary. "In India, the cost is zero," he said.
He also cited as a concern, the high cost of housing for his workers in Southern California. "It has become ridiculous," he said.
The mortgage giant, which is battling Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Des Moines, for the No. 1 production spot, already has some workers on the ground in Mumbai and hopes to have as many as 50 by year-end.

On this topic? Sherpa is right. This is a BS deal. Many companies have overseas operations. And here, most Americans tend to purchase items from overseas rather than American. Just look at your vehicles. On the door, inside. Even if your car is "American" it was most likely built in Mexico or Canada! If you want American jobs to stay, then buy American made or assembled products. My .02 cents. :boxed:

There are a lot of common misconceptions about the outsourcing of US jobs. In some cases US jobs are sent over seas because it is a cost savings but in other cases they are sent over seas because they have to be.
For example my company has a manufacturing plant in Taiwan. Our plant in taiwan doesnt save us any money, in fact it is just as expensive to run the plant in Taiwan as it would be to run it here. The reason it is in Taiwan is because the EPA will not let us shoot the chemicals we need to use for finishing our products.
Alot of companies have moved manufacturing over seas for this same reason, their production doesn't meet EPA standards.
