they are to cheep. Go buy another one! I got one of those all in one deals at Costco. Printer, copy, fax and flat bed scanner for around 150 bucks.

Its for a 4100n, not that cheap.
I actually need a company that I can call for my clients, I don't do printers and need someone I can recommend. I also need someone right now for a job.

Was going to be my suggestion as well. For what you would pay on repair you could probably pick up a new one with a warranty?

CALL HP Direct. If the printer is under warranty then HP will fix or replace it (more than likely replace it) and that number is 800.633.3600.
Otherwise contact the dealer where you purchased it and they SHOULD provide you with a number for repair.

What's wrong with it? Is it giving an error code on the display? I'm HP certified, let me know it might be an easy fix.

Thanks for the replies. I am the HP dealer that provided the printer. It has been way more then a year and no extended warranty. This problem would not be covered anyway, user error. They put in filmed photopaper in a laser printer which should explain the problem. I had a company I used for this, but they are no longer in business so I need a replacement company I can confidently refer my customer too.
Thanks again

so it needs a fuser! or drop a maint kit in it!! a 4100n is so easy the end user could prolly do it. Where is it? what is the page count? Did they change the toner?

Sounds like the film on the paper was heated up by the laser printer and got something all gummy.

The 4100n is a very good printer....will last a long time.
I know a very good tech, he's in Corona or Riverside, will come to your place and fix it.
His name is Robert, at Arkay Printer Repair.
Phone: 909-471-5227
Tell him Mike Chase (formerly from Corinthian Colleges) referred you. He is very good and very honest.
Good luck and please post how it works out!

Order a fuser they run about $100 on the net (refurb). Unless you have 250K pages printed, you don't really need a maintenance kit. Take 1 minute to change. http://www2.printerworks.com/cgi-win/tpwall.exe/find?RG5-5063-340
