well after months of trying to figure out where we were going to go with the help of some great board members we ended up at lake mead (callaville bay)and man was it great i have never seen so much freaking water surrounded by high peaks :p it was our first spring break with just me and the wifey :p and two bottle of vodka we boated by day and got sloppy drunk at night..the only bad part was the dam wind kicked up friday afternoon about 5 and we punked out and left the camp site and stayed in vegas...we ended up having a great 4 days with just the two of us......we even had time to play a lil cat and mouse.... :rollside:
i did get to see something i have never seen anywhere else check out the the big ass fish that were swimming right up by the launch ramp.. :220v:
lake mead is a awesome lake and if you havent been there i would hope you make it there this year

the water was awesome real calm and clear didnt look all meerky....i not sure how high the water generally is but it was so weird to see the markings on the mountains and see how high it water use to be....felt weird to think that this earth is headed in the wrong direction

Mead is down 90 feet from capacity. If the wind doesn't blow, it's the best, but even if it does, it's better than work.
Government wash is a trash pile. Anywhere on the lake is better for camping.

Government wash is closed until the water comes up some. That water line you see around the lake is 90' high, down from a record low of 102'. As they (they being the NPS) are trying to bring Lake Powell up (currently down 111') it may be a while for Mead to come back, but its still great boating...

Wondering the same thing...Looks higher than it did last season by the water marks..
