2003 42 Fountain Lightning,
Extreme boats magazine had the boat at 129 MPH. With 6 pages of coverage and write ups including a blip on the cover.
Powerboat mag had the boat at 121 AND it received the Powerboats Boat of the year for hull design in 2004.
Hot Boat had the boat as a FULL COVER and 4 full pages of write ups. And at 119 even Jim Wilkes said it had more to go and raved about it.
I have several copies of the magazines for the new owner.
I Bought the boat as new (DEMO) June 6th 2004 warranty on drives and trailer till 12-06-2004 and 6-6-2004 on the hull.
No warranty on motors but just had the heads and blowers gone thru by Paul Pfaff racing at 120 hours and leak down done both engines, and they are perfect.

THE MOTORS ARE 598 C.I. 4.5 x 4.65 (??) 14-71 BDS blowers with BAM super-cyborg transmissions and I have had absolutely no problems with this package, motors are carburated and MY SALES PAPERWORK SAYS 1200 H.P.
Drives are mercury #6 dry sump racing drives again no problems.
Props are 4 blade 34 pitch 17 3/4 dia. Labed from mercury, mercury cleavers.
This boat has a hull that was reworked by fountain and is basically the 2005 bottom (it was done as a magazine boat)
The boat has 5 power drop down bolsters AND 5 intercom headphones each having a plug in at the respective seat with separate volume controls.
Monster gauges and as an addition I have added a 160 MPH GPS Speedo.
There are 3 different sea strainers and three different shut off valves on each motor for the water so you can flush the motors while the boat sits in salt water for over night mooring
