That was awesome. We were sitting in Fridays just eating and talking. One person say it and all of a sudden everyone stopped to watch it. Sound effects and all.

It is nice to know that there are people around that perpetuate a litigious society.. :yuk:

Pickin' a fight with an NBA player - not a good idea.
Fire em' all.
After all, wouldn't you get fired for fighting on the job like that?

It wasn't even the blow from Artest that was the big bomber....it was the "third man in" when the dumb-ass chump was trying to get up. POW! Sit the F down ya little fat focker. Crazy that everyone just started throwing whatever was in their hands too....full plastic beer & soda bottles, nachos, popcorn. Sheesh, why would you throw your beer at a boxing match? That's just plain silly....all that leaves you is thirsty. :hammerhea

Since I missed it on ESPN and any subsequent showings will probably be much briefer, does anyone have a link to the whole thing online?

Wow! It Should Not Have Happen ..but It Did. I Am Sure One Thing They Drill In The Heads Of These Pro Players Is Try To Stay Cool And Never Go In To The Stands!!! There Will Be Huge Fines And Suspenions(sp) . The Fans Need To Held Accountable Also. I Felt Sorry For All The Kids That Were In The Middle Of This Riot, They Can Be Seen In The Video Crying And Holding Each Other . What A Black Eye For The Nba.

firts of all it was the ref's fault for letting the players stand there and talk shit back in fourth.if both teams went back to the bench never would of happened.only one fan threw a beer looked pretty empty no one else went crazy until indiana jumped in the crowd and started knocking people out.they deserve what they got after that.typical basketball fight players sucker punching guys from the side.

I thought it was awful! The players need fines/suspensions and the fans need to get fined also. That was just ridiculous!!!

Proof in the pudding that most NBA stars are nothing but Thugs, Gang members with fat wallets. Artest should be relaesed from his contract, see if he can make it in the real world flipping burgers, shit, he's probably to stupid to even do that...

Artest should be suspended w/o anything for the year and a few others for at least half or more of the season. Both teams should forfeit their next five games and a ban on beer sales at their arenas.

I don,t post much but I have to weigh in on this one. ESPN's position on this is the most hypercritical thing I've seen on TV sports in years. I've played and been a fan of hockey for 30 years and have seen this happen, mostly in hockey's minor leagues. In every case the stance of ESPN has been that the player is the professional and that it is an outrage and totally inexcussable. In 2001 tie Domi of the Leafs pulled a fan into the penalty box after being hit 3 times with beer and having the fan reach over the glass and thow a punch. ESPN said that there is no place for this kind of behavior in pro sports and that he should be permanently removed from the league. For 2 1/2 hours last night I listened to every person on ESPN talk about how it was understandable that a player would react that way after being hit with a plastic cup. Jermaine O,Neal's sucker punch of that fan was a cowardly act and one indicative of the self-serving "hood rat" athlete today.
