what is your recipe?

what is your recipe?
Here's the can't go wrong method.
I don't like to mess with coals so I use a propane BBQ.
Get a deep foil pan and a shallow rack to put in the pan.
That way you won't burn the bottom of the turkey.
Clean out the turkey and stuff it with veggies.
I use carrots, celery, and onions.
The veggies keep the turkey from drying out. Plus they create lots of juice for gravy.
Put turkey in pan. Be careful not to punch any holes in the botton of the pan.
If you do all the juice will drip on your BBQ and cause a grease fire.
I marinate the turkey two different ways.
One is to use BBQ sauce, like I did in the pics.
The only thing about BBQ sauce is that it tends to burn, which really isn't a bad thing because it helps seal in the juices.
You don't eat the skin anyways, so it doesn't really matter.
The other is to just take four or five strips of bacon and toothpick them to the top.
I prefer the bacon mothod.
Put turkey on Q. Drape foil over the top. Don't seal it off, just drape it over.
Light up BBQ and heat BBQ temp to 320 degrees.
The time on a BBQ turkey varies from 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Possibly more.
After 2 hours or so I put a thermometer in the breast.
You want the temp of the breast at 170 degrees and the legs at 180 degrees.
Uncover turkey when temp is correct and let it brown with lid down.
Keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn. This doesn't take long.
Remove turkey, take in house and remove it from the foil pan.
Let it sit on cutting board or tray for 15 minutes or more. 15 should be good though.
Then it's ready to cut.
If you did it right the legs will just fall off with a little tug.
You just BBQ'd the perfect turkey!! :rollside:

wow great pics, the only thing I have found with digital cameras (the mr had a new one just about every other year) is they look great when you put them on the computer, but when you print them the quality is not so good.

I also picked up a Kodak printer.
You put your memory card right in it and print out your pics.
It does a great job. I'm impressed.
I picked up this baby here.
It rock & rolls.
