The wife and I left Vegas yesterday at 1pm to get a jump on holiday traffic. Boy were we wrong! We did not get home until just before 9pm! 8 hours for a 3 and 1/2 hour trip. Man was I cranky when I got home. Had a great weekend though. Hope everyone did as well.

I went from Orange County to Parker last year the day before thanksgiving. As I recall, it took around 9 hours... just as Barney said it would.
Sometimes it's nice to live in the middle of nowhere. :)

Just got back from Havazoo = took 4 full hours instead of the usual 3hrs 45 min :D
Only one crash, it was on the I-15 by Sierra Ave. Looks like someone lost a toy hauler that darn near destroyed the center concrete divider. Didn't see the truck, hope it wasn't under the trailer....

Took me about three seconds to walk from the deep fryer to the keg.
But I did see every freekin store in the city trying to find some more peanut oil. All's well that ends well.... :shift:

We did the same thing on Thankgiving day. Nothing like planning ahead. Home depot carries peanut oil.

I di get up early and drive, and stayed in Laughlin last night too. It took 3 hr 40 min to the beach, NO traffic, left at 6 am. A new time record for me.
I am not into the drive, so I generally fly, but not on this holiday.

We Left Havasu around 1:30pm and just got home at 6 pm. Only about twenty five minutes longer than usual. Traffic got a little heavy through the Cahon Pass and then opened up.
Back again next weekend for the Parade of lights....... :D

We left Havasu yesterday at 1:00 to also get a jump on Sunday traffic. Stopped at Blue Water and watched boat races and ate. Got on the road through Ehrenberg (to avoid traffic) at 3:00. Got home at 8:45. The traffic was a nightmare in the palm springs area! We actually ate two meals on our way home! We had to get off in cabazon and ate at the Wheel Inn! Next time leaving on Monday!

Left Parker at 5:30pm today (Sunday) got to the South Bay at 10:45pm. That was with a stop in Desert Hot Spring and a stop in Long Beach. Not too bad but the traffic did suck through Palm Spring and that Morango Casino........but all worth it.

I did the same trip last weekend, in the snow. Took us 7 hours to get home from vegas LEAVING MONDAY MORNING.
Had to backtrack due to the gas line rupture, went from baker the the 40 and back to the 15.
What a damn mess, ruined my Reno plans for Thanksgiving.

We left Havasu yesterday at 12:30pm, got home to Quartz Hill at 5:30pm, not to bad. There was a 15 mile backup on the 58 to Mojave, so we went thru the desert past El Mirage dry lake bed to Ave J. It was the end to a very nice nine day vacation on the Lake. Back next weekend for the Parade!

Took off out of Parker around 3:30 - 4:00 yesterday afternoon.. Got a phone call while we were passing chiraco summit about some real heavy traffic out by the morongo casino, and one person told me that they had been sitting in that traffic for the better half of 2 hours, so we jumped off the freeway and went over the mountains.. Didn't hit any traffic at all, and honestly pulling a little car hauler over the mountains wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Left Parker yesterday at 5:30 and got home to Simi Valley at 10:30...hit a some stop and go traffic on the grade out of Palm Springs and some stuff through Calimesa area...but figured all the traffic added only about 30-45 minutes to the drive...however, no accidents along the way either..

To goto San Diego you can take the 74 to the 371.. You exit (damn I can't remember the name of the exit now?? I called clown puncher last night for the name of it while we were driving). Either way just get off the freeway at ___________ hang a left then go straight for about 20 minutes up over a windy ass mountain, and hang a left at the sign that sais San Diego.. Drops you off on the 79 and the 15.

Left Havasu at 7:30am(CA time) and made it home to North San Diego at 12:15...my normal travel time. Towing a flatbed full of quads.
Dave, I take the mountain route whether I'm towing or not...its so bad through the Cabazon area no matter what weekend it is, you save time and miles regardless. Amazing amount of toyhaulers on I-10 when we merged with the 111/86 in Indio :supp:
