how many people on here can use the keyboard without the hunt n peck method.
I learned the home keys many years ago, so I use the home keys and type pretty good, (providing I am not talking on the phone and typing, then I misspell a lot of words)
Mr is pretty fast, but he hunt n pecks the keys

Funny guy. But seriously. If it crashes once I'll fix it. If it keeps doing it then "make it do it for good" and then vanweb that bad boy. Of course upload your info before "giving it your good service" :D

QWERTY keyboard
Pronounced kwer-tee, refers to the arrangement of keys on a standard English computer keyboard or typewriter. The name derives from the first six characters on the top alphabetic line of the keyboard.
The arrangement of characters on a QWERTY keyboard was designed in 1868 by Christopher Sholes, the inventor of the typewriter. According to popular myth, Sholes arranged the keys in their odd fashion to prevent jamming on mechanical typewriters by separating commonly used letter combinations. However, there is no evidence to support this assertion, except that the arrangement does, in fact, inhibit fast typing.
With the emergence of ball-head electric typewriters and computer keyboards, on which jamming is not an issue, new keyboards designed for speed typing have been invented. The best-known is called a Dvorak keyboard. Despite their more rational designs, these new keyboards have not received wide acceptance.

left hand above home row?
ding ding ding. we have a winner.
Your keyboard is called a qwerty keyboard.
right under the number row the first keys are q w e r t and then y
there used to be a dvorac keyboard. This was setup more logical but qwerty had already taken over. much like minidisc and cd's.
Nice useless info huh.

When my kid was very young, and learning the computer, he "popped" all the key caps off and put them in alphabetical order.....so it'd be easier for him to type in stuff.....:)

I learned the homerow bs in junior high but never actually used it. I typically type with 2-4 fingers and still managed to push 60 wpm with 88% accuracy the last time I did a typing test. Now I am probably a little more accurate because I no longer have to look at the keyboard.
