Question for you guys. I bought a boat and trailer registered in Arizona. I kept the boat registered in Arizona, but need to transfer the trailer to California. Have any of you done this? What do I need to do? I called the DMV, but I couldn't understand the person talking to me.
Thanks

We have a boat registered in AZ and trailer in CA. Bought it new, so prior registration was not a problem. Seems to me you should take your documentation to DMV here and have title and registration transferred to your name.

As I understand it the 90 period is so you don't have to pay sales/use tax for CA.

And if you make a special trip to the DMV in Needles, call first to make sure there is more than one person working that day; I didn't do that and rolled into the lot looking for an examination of the trailer - the lone employee wouldn't walk outside to do it.
I offered to take digital pics and show her the ID tag, cpacity plate etc. She's have none of it!

Thanks for all the info. I called my local AAA office. I can take the boat to the AAA office and do all the paperwork there.
