Now that I have lifted my truck and put bigger tires on, now my speedometer is off by 5mph. My question is does or can the dealership reprogram the computer to compensate for the bigger tires?

I'm trying to stay away from programmers so I wont void my warranty on the drive train.

that lift and big tires isnt going to help with trans warranty claims either.

You don't want to change it, jut watch your speed. If you pay attention you are keeping your mileage down. Your odometer registers less than your actual mileage too..

What dealer did you buy it from? I have known of people going back to thier dealer after a lift and they did it for free.

I bought it at Raceway Ford in Riverside.

I would give them a call and talk with one of the service mgr's and see if he would do it for you

On my 96 F350 I did it myself. You need to know the tire circumference. For example say a 36" tire is 721 inches, you use 721. There is a wire under the glovebox that has to be grounded. Then Hold in the odometer/speddometer button and turn key on. Then keep hitting the reset button to bring up 721. This can be done only 5 times then PSOM module must be replaced. This is in some way how it works. I found the exact instructions here----http://www.thedieselstop.com/
I don't know if it still works on the newer ones.
Try here.---http://forums.thedieselstop.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=ubb40&Number=2195272&Forum=f42&Words=speedometer%20reset&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Main=2182012&Search=true&where=bodysub&Name=&daterange=1&newerval=&newertype=w&olderval=1&oldertype=d&bodyprev=#Post2195272
Lokks like there is a device called Truespeed to use if the tires are too big, or you need the Ford Star tester to reset newer ones. From what I read 05's can't be done.
