I've checked out the '06 Corvette at several dealers and none of the dealers had much in the way of any knowledge about the car other than they want 12k over sticker.
When the prices gets real,, I'm seriously considering buying one. This will probably mean next year.
(they even wanted $25 for the brochure, I didn't pay it)
I've never met a bigger bunch of idiots that knew nothing about what they were selling.
I'd like to take delivery in Kentucky at GM's Corvette plant. I read in several trade rags this can be done.
Anyone ever done this? Was it the cool way to do it or a waste of time?

Read all about it. It sounds awesome. I think you are talking about the Z06. Screw all those clowns, CALL Jay PHOTOGLUE he is on here. He will sell you one at cost, you just have to order it now. He sold us ours when everyone else was selling them at 7K over MSRP. he did it for 1K under MSRP. Talk about happy... Oh ours is only a C6

The nail is in it. It can be repaired. Now I'm in L.A. So you think there would be a repair center near by. NOPE. I called the ones on the Goodyear website, they were like WTF are you talking about....
So I think im assed out and I am gonna have to by one.
300 Later.
As far as picking up the car at the center. they do have a special pick up center for the Corvette. It will cost you 400 bucks to do it. They throw you a little party and have plaques and stuff.......

yeah I don't think you want to repair that, it would be okay if you were the only one driving it, but your wife will probably get it over 55 m.p.h. :D :D :D

I was on the track the other day and I had a 3/4 mile straight away on a certain section.
I came out at 125 and it pulled all the way up to 170, I ran out of track, before I had to brake. They are not kidding when they say it will do 186. I was amazed at how fast it was climbing at that speed...
And you are right it is better to get a new one, better safe than sorry, I had a moment of cheap ass shot thru me....
