Another rookie to the forums here. I got turned on to this site by some friends at work after a trip to Havasu last October, and I've been lurking around ever since. Must say, I've laughed my ass off many times and had my eyes pop from their sockets many times as well. Way better forums than others I've seen. Everyone here seems really cool, and it's almost like everyone knows eachother. This first post is kind of like being the new kid in school, kind of intimidating, but here it is. I look forward to mixing it up with you guys and hope I have as much fun now as I did in the shadows.

I try to avoid anything political as much as possible. My wife and I are political opposites, she's a bleeding heart Dem. and I'm a full Republican, so I've learned talking politics never works out for me. I usually end up on the couch with Miss Michigan.

As of now, I work for Orange County Fire, but I am out on comp awaiting my second back surgery. Don't know if I'll make it back, or if they'll retire me out, but I sure hope to get back. I can't afford to retire out and keep the lifestyle I like!! :D Prior to Orange County I worked for a department that worked a 5/6 schedule, and I loved the 6 days.

Phebus, sorry to hear about your back. I hope it works out well for you and you can get back on the job. Comp issues always suck. I hope they treat you fairly. ORCO seems like a great place to work. I grew up in Yorba Linda and my dad retired from Orange County Fire in '89. I tried to get on there, but never worked out. I started out with Bakersfield Fire and now I'm with Oxnard (not just another pretty name!)

Small world. Where in Y.L.? Racer277 grew up there and I grew up in Placentia. Now living in Bako. :)

Kilrtoy, if I posted pics of the Mrs. in a thong I'd be a dead man. She's not quite where she wants to be after the 3rd kid. MR277, you're right about the small world thing. I grew up off YL BLVD. and Avocado, and my wife grew up in Placentia off Vanburen and YL BLVD. Lived in Rosedale while in Bakos. I cracked up a while back reading the post about a gathering at Canyon Inn. Barfed in their parking lot many times :D

Wow hubby lived off Y.L. Blvd. and Richfield. His parents are still there.
I was off Kramer behind El Dorado HS. And my parents are still there. We
are Northeast here off the 178.
