Good looking pooch RR. I have a female yellow lab. Very similar looking to your dog as far as the shadings on her ears and so forth.

Those of you with older labs, please tell me it gets better! Mine is 10 mons  and things like this seem to be an everyday occurance around our house now.

I feel your pain. They get better. My lab about damn near destroyed everything in my back yard up until she turned two. She is 9 now and is a fairly mellow really good dog. Destructive little fockers when they are puppies though.

They do get better. Our Male Yellow, 3 on Memorial Day, used to chew every thing. The to best investments we made were a 6x8 run, and a hot-wire :220v: around the planters and Jacuzzi. He ate half of the jacuzzi cover  , which is made up of little styrofoam balls. He was pooping rocky road for about a week. We quickly extended the hot wire around the jacuzzi. He will not go anywhere near the plants or spa anymore, even though the current wire goes from malibu light to light and hasn't been connected for about 1.5 years. :boxed:

My Lab/retriever mix destroyed thousands in landscaping.. She's not too into eating or digging up the backyard anymore, but she still tramples over everything .. not much left for her to eat :

I keep a chickenwire type fencing up around the enternaces of the planters, and remove it when guests are here.
DEfinitely A LOT beter than she use to be :D

It'll get better in about a year, most pups are pretty destructive until around 2 yrs of age....
My pup has finally mellowed on the digging and mawling of every wire, shoe and plastic garden tools/handles....This is her grin when she's excited or has done a N0-No... :D

Gunner went through three sets of patio furniture, all of the lights in the back yard, every sprinkler head I have, plus the pool cleaner, as well as the insulation off the AC condenser in teh backyard....they are destructive little fockers to be sure, but he's a great dog now...and he keeps Sunny busy enough she doesn't chew that much...if you can swing it, I HIGHLY recommend a second "Playmate" for him...think about it.....

KELLY (GOLDEN RETREIVER IN THE ABOVE PIC) WAS STARTING TO SLOW DOWN AT ABOUT 9 YEARS OLD, THEN WE GOT KAMMI (BLACK LAB). KELLY DIDN't KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF HER AT FIRST, BUT THEY SOON BECAME FRIENDS, AND NOW NEVER LEAVE EACH OTHER's SIDE...

Ally has just now finished off the second mesquite sappling in the backyard of the new house... must like the smokey flavor. :D :D
But as long as she's chewing on stuff outside, she's not chewing on anything inside. :D
