I kinda like the idea but I'm worried that they will scuff the gel by sliding more than a rolling round fender would.

Good point. I would think if the timing was right too, you could bang up the side rail in between the split.

they look like they would do good at staying in place. and not sliding up or down.

I use em. Fits good on the contours of the boat. Easy to store & stack. I like em. :D :D

I'm telling you, that split in the middle looks like trouble. Stick with what you know works. You just wanna be different huh? :D

i like the split, it seems to make the bumper protect more down below, instead of shooting straight off at an angle and.

I have tried them, and I don't think they work that great and they don't keep the boat far enough away from the dock...
Go to the toy store and buy some big hippity hops...tie those off....softer than bouys, large enough to keep anything away and a lot cheaper than anything at West Marine....like 10-14 each.

I am beginning to believe you guys out West are Smarter than I originally thought. Everytime I read something I learn something new and insightful. The hippitty hop thing sounds great and no matter how large or small the boat it will keep it off the dock. Thanks for the tips guys. Keep up the good work.

Since I have just a small jet boat and no cleats. I use the jet ski bumpers. They have suction cups on both ends. The work pretty good for small boats and they don't take up a lot of room.

That would work great, but you have to have hippity hop storage area on your boat. I like to carry a lot of fenders for when tying off to docks or rafting up with others. It's a balance of effectiveness and storage issues.

So how did the boat run this past weekend?
glad you asked, all the parts did not come in, so we were going to do it this weekend. When he got it all together he went to replace my prop, (remember what you said about the out drive handleing it) well the (brain fart) prob drive line? was bent so $1200 later, and it is getting a new XR. plus it won't be ready this weekend either, maybe next weekend. the good news is now i won't have to worry about the outdrive handeling the power.

Just bought the most bee-you-tee-full 25' daytona. I was told by a friend to get the hippity hop fenders. best money i've ever spent. My friend is VERY picky with his boat, also 25' daytona, and now that i own one too i know why. Cats seem to bob more than vee's??? the hh fenders don't crawl up the flat sides of the daytona like the long round ones.
Mine were not cheap. $50.00 each. But I am sure they are worth it. :)

I have an outboard boat, so I just throw them under the hatch...can fit at least 3 and then a large round bouy.
