I'm doing a few searches, but rumor has it that Ford announced today that they are recalling the 2000 model year trucks and some SUV's for a faulty cruise control switch that doesn't disengage and causes fires. This has only occured in some 36 cases, and usually after being parked for 12 hours or so. But if its in your garage...you stand a lot to lose. Anyone have a link on this?

Our 2000 Navigator is on the list...Wife called the dealer this morning and all they will do at this point is disengage the cruise control. The dealer said they aren't expecting to have the issued resolved until April.... :yuk:
This POS has been the worst vehicle I've owed....This thing spends more time at the dealer than it does in my garage....to bad it didn't burst into flames when the dealer had it in there shop for over a month this past summer..... :yuk: They finally couldn't fix the problem so they replaced the engine.
