At the risk of sounding like an a$$, I have to ask, why would anyone want a 24 foot jet boat? Makes little to no sense on a boat that big and heavy with all of the IO options available today.
just wondering...
2 reasons
Bullhead is very shallow and my place is on the river
My best friend right out of High School was Killed by a Prop

agreed. beautiful color.
So, being that it IS a big boat for a jet....how's she handle? Didn't know Hawaiian was still producing......got any other pics to post up? I'd like to see more of it on the inside.
Later,

It's a very slightly modified 496 and I have not run it on gps yet but builder says 60 easy and he said 75 but I'll be happy with 60

Actually i was told by a couple people in the industry that that hull run well in the jet format. ;) Wounder how the dual set up would work
That is one of the nicer gel jobs I have seen on the Hawaiian

75 in a "slightly modified" 496 in a 24 ft boat? That sounds optimistic at best.

Not to burst your bubble or anything cause that is a nice boat but I had a 24' Kachina with a dominator jet being powered by a 650hp 496 and only got 45 mph out of her. That is why I moved up to my I/O and I love it. Very nice boat though I hope you get the performance you are looking for out of it.

Nice looking boat! As a survivor of a "Prop attack" I can easily understand a Jet.
I’ve got a 502 in my 21’ Lavey ( 23 ‘ overall) and I’m able to top 60 - almost 65.
I think 75 is pretty optimistic, but good luck.

I'm not concerned with how fast it actually goes just as long as it starts and runs, I have no real data yet but when I do I'll let you know ( what I do know is on a no wind day it really does put my metal sunglasses to my face ) and I raced a 21' with a big block and he could not get away I think it has to do with the 89" beam ( i'm no boat expert by any strech of the imagination ) but I'd be happy with 45 just as well, and I know how builders love to talk about there boats :eat: so thats all I have to go on right now. if anyone wants to help me figure it out I'd be happy to show up and test the CRAP out of it....( While it's still under warrenty hahahaha )

Agreed, cruising is just fine. Once you open up the secondaries on that carb, it'll really gobble the gas. To me, the only downside is a jet uses more gas, but I knew that going in. The piece of mind is worth it.

Still kickin' out quite a few. I also have a Hawaiian 24 footer (2001),Marine Power 502 and stage one blueprinted pump. It does well on the river at Bullhead and on the big basin on Mohave. It rides and turns well and is a great boat for skiing/tubing if you have little kids around. I haven't GPSed it but it has great acceleration without much bow rise and speed good enough for a family boat. It will go faster than a lot of people want to go. Obviously it will never compete with hot I/O's,but can give you a suprisingly good run for your money especially in rough water.

I've owned 2 Hawaiians, still have one from 1979 it is the open bow Moonraker. Had a few issues with engines last couple of years but its a good lake/river boat.

My second Hawaiian also My first and first new boat was a 78 19 foot miniday cruiser with a 460 Ford and a Jacuzzi pump.It was also a good reliable fun boat, but it was severly lacking on freeboard. It would be tough to use on Havasu nowadays.

I agree and I love the low bow rise that thing just takes off and yes at WOT the passengers get tense  But now I need to know so when it gets back from the show I'm going to the lake with a GPS

You will probably see around 63-65 with that set-up. The 496HO with an I/O will do mid 70's, so there is no way that you will see 70 with a jet. I think your comment about the manufacturer being optimistic was very accurate.

I'd be careful giving Wayne your boat for any reason. He might sell it out from under you. I've heard stories (don't know if true) that he has been known to pull parts off of boats he has in for service, so he can complete a new boat. He owes a friend of mine a couple of DPX drives.

So, you are saying that he stole "a couple of DPX drives" from a customer? I'm curious how you can owe someone "a couple of DPX drives". Are the drives not part of a package and didn't they need them in order to complete the boat? Or maybe the boats are sitting without drives.
How can someone sell anothers boat without their permission?
Please explain so we have a heads-up on the situation.

I've heard stories as well but nothing has happened to me yet.... Probably because I deal more with Adam ( the Son ) then Wayne. What's a DPX drive? I'll ask for ya... if you want....

It is a Volvo-DouProp drive that usually accompanies a 420-500HP motor.
