I have a 2000 Yukon factory stereo and it seems there is hardly any bass to it...A person has to have the bass cranked wide open...and then it is only hardly adequet. I am not into having the thing totally thump, but there is a factory sub in it, and I just expect more...
Could there possibly be something wrong or is this just how it is??

While the numbers may be low there, all the best Internet wire jockeys hang out in the AV forum.
Here's a recent thread (http://www.***boat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68530) that seems to speak to your problem. Of course, it's 10 threads down from the top so I can see how you wouldn't have found it. :D

I have a 99, and it didn't seem to be too bad in the bass department. But now I have added 2 10's, so it is pumpin a bit better. The only thing I can think of is there is not enough power going to your sub. I'm sorry I can't be any more help. I will say that when I changed out the deck, the stock system did sound better. But now I don't have anything from the rear door speakers, so if somebody can help me w/ that, it'd be greatly appreciated...

I read through and nothing that specifically says anything about the Yukon or bass for it.

I just read it again and didn't see the word "Yukon" either.
Perhaps I was too quick to assume that he is trying to find a way to add a sub to his existing system.
There is another option also. Back in the 80s, Sony used to make a pair of 8 ohm primary coil transformers that had secondary coils which feed a line level output (roughly 1 volt max, back in the day). As it happens, I have a box of those transformers somewhere. They were really cheap and useful for grafting subs into factory systems but Sony discontinued them so I stocked up before the product hit end of life.
