I was wondering what insurance company you motorcycle guys go thru. The company I am going thru now is raping the crap out of me. :yuk:
I am 30 yrs old, with one wreck on my record, and they are charging me $3600 a year for full coverage on a '03 Dyna Lowrider. :frown:

Man, what insurance company is that. I don't have a bike but I was thinking the friends of ours that do have Harleys said dthey only pay around 5 hundred a year. Could that be right?

Dairyland mutual. I have to put $750 down, and pay $325 a month. Needless to say, I am going to do some shoping around.

My brother and my dad both have thier bikes insured thru them, and they pay less then $150 a year, but its only liability.

This topic was recently covered, do a search. I use Foremost for my '99 Road King, I'm 27, no wrecks, and pay 600 a year......full coverage.

How long ago was the accident? I work for State Farm and our rates are much cheaper than that, although they might be different for TX.

For a 2004 Road King Classic with 1 ticket, I'm paying 330 a year with Farm Bureau Insurance. That's down from 1300 a year with USAA. If you belong to an organization like Harley Owners Group, they give you 10% off and another 10% if you have been through a Rider Safety Course.

Call a Harley Davidson dealer. They got me insurance (full coverage, spotless record though) for $650 p/y. I'll get the name of the insurance, the wife sends the bills.

They were considerably higher for us,, that's why we dropped USAA after being with them for 10+ years with all the stuff insured with them. We ended up saving about 1500 a year by changing.

HD Credit writes through Foremost. Most dealers can do it through HD Credit.

When I was talking to the progressive guy, He told me that this bike would be expensive for a 50 year old to insure. Why is this bike different from any other bike?

alot of it has to do with the fact that is a Dyna model

oopppps didn't read your last post. That bike is not considered a leisure bike by any means. Hence the reason for the $$$$

thats what I did. I have Foremost thru HOG, after one year after starting with no license, and then taking the RSC, my renewal is at 799 and they are going to come down more by monday, since I sent in my RSC card. 3600!? WTF? call Harley Davidson, join the HOG and ask them for a competitive rate.

Progressive Insurance, the only way to go for bike, and boat insurance. 2003 Heritage, 2004 Playcraft powertoon extreme. Nobody could beat their prices, and it can be done online very easy.
