if you're doing just regular deductions and not a work related vehicle,
it's the part that says VLF or Vehicle License Fee

check your DMV renewal notice. All my vehicles show it in a box on the upper right of the form that lists all of the fees. For example, my 91 4runner says:
registration fee.......$40
vehicle license fee...$52
weight fee..............$0
special plate fee......$0
county/district fee...$9
owner responsibility fee...$0
and then down at the bottom it says:
vlf offset fee...-$35
total due.........$66
so, the amount I use for an itemized deduction is the $52
my 2000 Astro van has a VLF of $251
