This was my last pass of the day on the new boat, motors have 5 hours, I was turning 5,800 RPM's, had 3 adults on board and 1/2 tank. Not bad...

Give us a little history. Where did you go, what were the water conditions, and how was the overall ride/feel of the new boat?

Congrats on the new ride!

02-13-2005, 06:39 PM
Ok sorry, The water conditions sucked, it was like glass, a waterskiers dream. It was very cold about 60 when we launched and it was 66 when we left the lake. Not a rippled to be found. boat felt great, but Paul(guy who rigged the boat) said it was a horrible ride due to conditions. he said once it gets choppy and all that good stuff then you will really enjoy the ride...
We crossed behind the ferry out there and it left a nice size wake. The boat never even knew ot was there. The boat ran awesome... It was at Lake havasu.....

Congratulations, sounds like a great day to put some hours on it. A little chop should free the bottom up, and gain you some speed, but when it's cold out, it sure is cool just to carve some turns in the glass without the extra wind to freeze your ass off. Happy to hear of no problems, hope you have more happiness to come!!

Speaking of duct tape, at least the trailer is somewhat the same color. So when he slaps some duct tape on it, it will blend in better. Was that planned?? :D J/K. Boat looks great Kilr. The axles on the trailer are so far back. Is that normal for an outboard boat???

Either it's "recall"...
...or he's doing it on the trailer.
Nice boat, Kilr.

Jesus man, that's a great looking boat. Saw it at the boat show, but it looks even better in the daylight. I'm curious... with the axles so far back on the trailer does it have a lot of tongue weight? Do you have a hydraulic jack on the front of the trailer, or a regular hand crank type?

The axles are so far back due to the weight of those big ass 300's hung way out there :D actin' like a counter weight for the rest of the hull....
Probably weigh the same as having Blown Big Blocks , just on the Outside

CONGRAT'S KilerT! at mid 90's and 5800RPM looks like you still have ALOT left over  That boat is SICK smooth at over 100mph! its just wrong!! WAS your G/D smartcraft alarm going off every four seconds like mine did? how anoying.....how were you around the docks and unloading/ reloading with a brandnew cherry boat? That freaked my butt out for a long time.BEST piece of advice I recieved was go to a ramp MID WEEK, load and unload about 20 times to get a fill and see where you need to line up. And the dinks at our ramp all hang out and yell at you when you screw up, even more so when you have a boat of this level....
again congrats, your going to have a great summer!

At first when you gave it to much throttle they were going off. Then again when I hit 5500 early on and they went off, but that was it. I was told where the top points were and tried to stay 200 RPM's under that. I'm hoping to see at least another 12 out of it.... We will see, if not 8 to 10 is by me....

The water was flat I mean flat like a ,Well you get the point. The water was very sticky so it searched alot under cruise mode and at 60 to 70. But when i put the power to it at 40 it drove right thru it and there was no notice of any searching or porpise..Hopefully next weekend with everyone there there should be some nice ripples in the water and we will get a better ride....
