Serious question... Would you actually use a tool box like that, or keep it unused as a collectible?

I can't afford the snap-on box after making constant payments on tools. I have been paying weekly for the last 15 yrs. It never ends. New cars require new tools. I just keep buying another craftsman roller bearing tool box when one fills up. I'm up to 3 now.

I have actually bought a few boxes from snap-on and turned around and sold them for proffit. First get in good with your dealer and then let him know you are looking for a box and to bring by any tradeins he gets. They ususally want to get rid of the trade-ins ASAP so they will deal on them.

Tried that but they were junk. I'm on real good terms with the guy but I can't justify spending that much on a box.

That sucks. My guy used to call me and tell when people were thinking about trading in a box most have been pretty good, he knew if it was junk I wasnt going to buy so he wouldn't even waste my time. Keep your eyes open, the right one will come along.

I bought my Mac box off the Snap-On truck as a trade in, I got it for 800, new at the time was 2800. A little ruff on the paint here and there, but a good box none the less.
I was in pretty tight with my Snap-On dealer and would go over to his house on occasion. He had a garage full on used boxes. Everything from beat up Kennedy's to pristine limited edition Snap-On/Matco/Mac boxes, all trades. Once a year he'd have a sale, just to make room for more.
