Funny, I just talked to Essex today about an appointment. $550 was what he told me as well.
They said 1-2 weeks turn around and the earliest appt that I could get was March 15th.

Just brought my boat in for service @ Pacific Marine Repair & Boat Yard. They are removing the outdirve, checking bearings, bellows, alignment, etc... Also having them change fluids, impellor and housing, and water pump. Final quote less than $400.00 :D

When I did mine, it was 450 at Alco Marine in havasu. I was going to do it this week but instead, Absolute is going to pull the engine and install the Raylar kit.

Just made an appt with Alco in Lake Havasu and they are going to do the annual service for about $375-400 plus pull my BIII drive and check things out for another $350. The drive has not been off in a couple of years. Better safe than sorry!
I like them because they are Certified Mercury Marine. :D
Thanks to Havasu_Dreamin for the recommendation.

Dude 750.00 to change some fluids & grease some splines is rediculous. Ill save you a shitload of cash and throw in a wash for 400.00. Give me a call 909 239-6240 ask for Mike. Look in the cats & tunnell section Daytona pics thread for some pics of my work. :)

If your going to Havasu then go to Absolute Speed and Marine and let Aaron do it. it was 360 bucks for all my fluids changed and stuff and they pulled my drive and checked alignment. That is one honest hard working guy. He told me to come back before 70 hours and he would do the fluids and change the impeller and that stuff and it would be around the same price. If you want to stay locally you may want to go to Tom Papp. He is the service end for Inland Ultra. I don't know pricing only that it supposed to be great work. Also Quality Performance is supposed to be great work.

No problem Dennis. As I said, we use Absolute, but for your peace of mind ALCO is Mercury Certified and I have not heard one thing bad about them. I'm sure they will do right by you.

I watched Alco pump a outdrive full of water because the 5gal oil can had sat outside. I was buying parts & watched it happen. The tec wanted to take the drive apart to clean it out & was told just drain the water & re-fill.
Hard to think all the water made it out. This was at the end of Dec. last year. I think I'll keep doing my own service.
Or use Aaron @ Absolute if it's something I can't do.
