A good friend of mine is looking to buy a Dana mini day cruiser. I'm from the flat bottom world, don't know anything about these. It's a 20 1/2 foot mini with a Bravo 1 outdrive. It has a professionally built twin turbo'd 462 BBC. I think it is a 1987, decent boat or ?????

Thanks for the reply. It has approx. 20 hours on the engine and the hull looks real good as far as no real stress cracks etc. The gel coat is decent and it seems pretty solid. Looks like it would be a good boat for him...

I'd be carefull with that vintage Dana. I don't believe it was run by the same ownership that currently produces the boats. I had an 85 21, and it was laid up cheaply, and had some serious hook in the back of the boat. Was fine for a weekend playboat, but not something you would put a motor like that in with an outdrive. If you have pics that would be cool.
No offense intended to the current Dana owners, just passing on my experience with one from that time frame.

Will try and get some pictures up. Took it out to Millerton a week ago. It has a 23 P on it right now. Going to prop up as it buzzed to 6000 real quick. Thinking about a 25 P - 27 P prop. What is the biggest difference between 3 blade and 4 blade. I come from a flatbottom 2 blade word. Kinda clueless about the stern drives. It has a Bravo 1 w/ an IMCO drive shower.

Hey 69 Elim, good to hear from you. Chris still has his Sanger also. It's been running pretty good now that the new engine is dialed in. We'll look for you at Millerton...
